A rescued cat took in a stray kitten found in a parking lot and adopted another who needed a nursing mom. Jane Springston Late August, a tuxedo kitten was found lying on the concrete in a parking lot, all alone. She was rushed to a clinic where they found her a nursing cat mom. Her presence, warmth and care saved the little one's life.The momma cat was also a rescue herself. Jane Springston, an animal rescuer based in Boca Raton, Florida and volunteer of , took her in when her owner was evicted and could no longer keep her. She began to help other kittens in need when her own litter was big enough to go to forever homes. "She accepted the new kitten without hesitation and took her in as her own," Jane told Love Meow. Jane Springston The young tuxedo immediately perked up having a surrogate mom around. She nuzzled into her belly and started nursing while the cat mama cleaned her from head to toe. Within a day, the kitten bounced back on her paws and began to thrive. Jane Springston Last week, Jane and her rescue took in another orphaned kitten who was found at a few days old. Her eyes hadn't opened yet and she desperately needed round-the-clock care. They immediately thought of the cat mom at the clinic, brought the kitten over and hoped she would accept a second baby. Jane Springston As soon as they placed the gray kitten in the nest, the cat mom noticed her, swooped over and started grooming the tiny ball of fur as if she was breathing life back into that fragile little body. A feral cat who was rescued along with her kittens, took in three other babies who were in need of motherly love. An elusive stray cat who had been roaming the streets for quite some time, finally accepted help when someone offered her a dumpling. Coastal Bend Cat Rescue A few weeks ago, a stray cat was spotted wandering a local shopping center. Several TNR (trap-neuter-return) rescuers responded and set out humane traps in the area but only to find that the savvy and elusive feline evaded them all. She was later seen crossing the highway to go back and forth between several restaurants looking for scraps of food. A Good Samaritan who had seen her picture on social media, eventually found her and was able to coax her into a cat carrier with a dumpling. The tabby was too hungry to resist the food and finally accepted help. , a local rescue in Corpus Christi, Texas, took her into their care, but little did they know she didn't come alone. Coastal Bend Cat Rescue "Within 48 hours, Dumpling (as she was soon named) decided to surprise us by popping out some baby dumplings. She was such a young and petite cat herself, weighing only six pounds," Lindsay Haglund, Foster Coordinator of Coastal Bend Cat Rescue, told Love Meow."It was very clear that it was her first pregnancy as a very young mother. She went into labor and had five little babies (four eventually survived) on top of a comfy queen sized bed in her foster home."The cat mom was so exhausted that she needed help with the delivery and to clean the babies. The infection is very serious and can be passed on to little kittens as well," Lindsay told Love Meow."Under veterinary guidance, we separated the babies from their mama and bottle fed them to give Dumpling some recovery and healing time."But being away from the kittens was unbearable to the cat mom. She would cry nonstop just to be close to them. "We knew we needed to come up with a way to keep mama and babies together without the risk of babies trying to nurse." Five kittens who were abandoned next to a dumpster, found a grandpa cat to love on. Tinykittens , a rescue group based in Fort Langley, British Columbia, was contacted about a litter of kittens needing rescue. A Good Samaritan heard them crying during a rain storm and found them in a cardboard box by a dumpster.Rescuers immediately went to pick them up. Madison VanNess @gatsbycatsby19 Earlier this year, in McComb, Mississippi took in a kitten who needed a lot of TLC. He was not afraid of anything and would approach anyone with confidence."He curled up in a ball with my dachshunds and fell asleep. Neither of my cats I own intimidated him. He ran around the house like a maniac and curled up in my arms when he was calm," Madison said. "I've fostered many kitties before, but none adapted as quickly as Gatsby." He craves attention from everyone and makes friends easily." Madison VanNess @gatsbycatsby19 "He loves snuggling right up next to your face and receiving lots of pets and scratches behind the ears. But he's so mischievous too," Madison added. "He gets into our cabinets, grabs entire packages of crackers and other things in his mouth and takes off running with them!" Madison VanNess @gatsbycatsby19 Gatsby even tried to win over their cat Peach, who isn't particularly fond of kittens, and befriended Yoshi, another resident cat. The two just hit it off."As the days passed, he won my heart over even more. When he hit the two pound mark to get fixed, I brought him back to the shelter and told myself that if my home felt weird without him there, I'd adopt him," Madison told Love Meow. There wasn't any kitty around screaming at me constantly or trying to nuzzle my face with every passing second."The following Friday, Madison filled out the paperwork, took the adoption picture and officially made little Gatsby a permanent part of her family.
